1st ever

Well, I always wanted to earn some money from my art work
and thanks to Jess, who is my first customer ^^

here are the cards
for her two sisters who is 14 n 15 years old
teenagers right? so I make it into more colourful
because Jess wants her theme to be garden for both cards

The 1st card

This is the cover
I cut a circle on the corner of the cover
and then use a yellow and a orange thread (cross-stitch thread) stick on the card
make it into a sun ^^
the purple and red heart shape is cut out from a kind of spongy paper
which I get from youngones in Penang (not really sure where to get it in kl but i'm sure they are selling somewhere out there)
the two hearts are stick on the behind ( not the cover)

Garden theme links me to butterfly
so I go online search for butterfly origami
what is origami????
Origami (折り紙?, from oru meaning "folding", and kami meaning "paper") is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. (cited from Wikipedia)

I don't really have much of time to make the card cause is last minute decision from her
so I manage to find easier step to make the butterfly
but looks so nice right?

After learning the butterfly origami
what I did most of the time is just cut and paste
as u can see the flowers and the grass
the grass is made out from crepe paper
That's the cover of my 1st birthday card

Inside of the card
I found a nice quote from internet
so I copied it ><
p/s: plagiarism? sorry... I'm not really good in words

The 2nd card

The card is fold into half
then I cut out a rectangular from the cover
It will looks like a border
Then open up the card, behind the cover page
I stick on the thread ( pic above)

Then i get a green color paper to draw "happy birthday" words on it
and I stick that paper on top of the border of the card

This is how it looks like
the words is behind the threads
Then I draw all those insects n flowers
See carefully, you will notice that those cartoon are stick on the thread
and here is the complete cover of 2nd card!!!

Is a bit complicated on the cover page
so inside the card I just do some simple border
by using magic pen draw triangular shape with different colours

That's my DIY card... and again is 100% purely handmade... everything is done by cutting, drawing, colouring, and folding... Why not try your own DIY card? all u need is different materials and just cut and paste...

and if u guys really like my work n want to get one custom made card for someone who is special... just let me know... u will fix the price, u can give ur ideas, and I'll just follow ur order =P

stay tune for more handmade cardsss......
